Hi, James with tuxedo yard care. Today I want to talk to you about a common irrigation system problem that we find all the time. And I think this will help some people out. So if you’ve got an area of your lawn that is burning up and it’s a bigger area, it’s obviously involving the entire section that’s, you know, involving five or 10 heads. Usually, it’s not the sprinkler heads themselves, it’s the zone has gone out and the valve is not working for some reason that turns on and controls that whole zone. And it usually is some sort of wiring issue that causes this problem. So what you want to do is go to your valve box. And here’s a valve that I have with me here. And usually, sometimes it is the wiring.
So check these connections, if they’re corroded, I’d reconnect these, that might solve your problem. If it doesn’t, then I would go to your solenoid right here that’s right on top. And these are 15 $20 super easy, and it’s very common, these go out and the valve itself is okay. It’s just the solenoids gone out. So what you want to do is turn off your mainline depressurize the system, make sure all the pressures out before you take this off. Otherwise, it’s going to spray you cut your wires, make sure they’re disconnected. And then take your solenoid off, just turn it counterclockwise. And that’ll get it off for you. Toss that. Get your new one. turn it clockwise. Get it snug. You don’t want to go too tight because it can break it. Just get it on there snug. wire this back in just power and ground, not too bad on the wiring, and then go test it a lot of times this is your problem is your solenoid.
So try that out could be a quick, easy fix to get that zone working again for you. That’s it. If you have any questions, give us a call at 801-540-4713 and have a great day. We’ll see you later. Bye
